MEN AND THEIR GADGETS - ATC

Over at England stampers the theme which was mine(the reason being I won the last lottery ) for this months atc lottery was Boys and their toys or men and their gadgets,
I thought that would be quite an easy task seeing it was fathers day in june also everyone would be on the men theme..... well when I finally got around to making mine, I thought, what on earth can I do.....
I firstly started with the tools which I had stamps for, I thought I must shrink them down as they would be more the right size for an atc.
so I made the tools first, then I thought I could use the clock gears stamp from stampin up set and use them as cogs... would make an ideal background.
My problem was finding a man....... I didnt think I had a stamp of any male lol... and then I found davincis david
Suddenly my mind is racing..........lol
tools!!!!!!!!!!
I came up with this LITTLE 13%er.......
Well it made me laugh to myself all afternoon........ so it was well worth the effort if only for me
Hope you enjoy it too, and get my weird sense of humour, I am afraid it was lost on my son.....lol

ATC SWAPPERS - CALL OF THE WILD - JUNE

Over at atswappers this month the theme is Call of the wild
Here is my take on the theme, I have used some Clarity stamps - giraffe and zebra and alos a tree stamp, stamped these in black. then using distress inks for the background.I made the background by rubbing the pads onto a craft mat and then spritzing with water, then placed the atc onto the ink, once dry I then stippled some ink from the pad with scrunched paper on the bottom half, and stamped a flower stamp around the top edge to give the idea of looking threw branches finished off with some distress stickles rubbed onto the bottom half....
Hope everyone who recieves my offerings will enjoy them....

A Boxed Wedding Card

Good evening all you stampaholics out there, I was asked by a friend to make them a wedding card for a friends daughter who was about to be married out in Spain, the groom would be wearing a kilt as he is originally from Scotland.

Here is the boxed card I made for them....
Its a booklet type card, I forgot to take a photo of it all together but its concertina style so I am sure you can imagine all the pages together......
Here is the picture of the front of the card...... the tiny embellishments are made from mulberry hand made paper with the kilt added by folding a small scrap of tartan paper into the shape of a skirt. The edge of each panel has been embossed with a versa mark ink pad and then embossed with gold powder.
The next picture is of the next 2 pages of the wedding booklet.....
I have embossed 2 hearts in the backing paper and mounted onto cream before adding to the page, opposite is a verse for the happy couple with added embellishment......

and then the next 2 pages

this page gives the details of the wedding, which I did on the computer and then positioned onto a framed oval from one of the glitter girls boards.. and again the next page with a sentiment and a mulberry paper cake

and the next 2 pages contain a heart border with a small stampin up sentiment with added paper flowers and another verse stamp with added heart envelope embellishment.....

this is the centre back, which holds the ribbon fastener under the With Love sentiment ties around the front to hold the concertina booklet together.....

and onto the back 2 pages

a sentiment embossed onto cream and edged in gold with a present mulberry embellishment. the next page holding a pair of cream gloves with stamped and embossed heart motif down the side.
and the last 2 pages
sentiment and last but not least 2 embossed hearts again, all the pages have gold embossing around the edges..
I would love to hear your comments.... please leave a message my blog needs your imput, and I just love to hear what you have to say........ ju x

Take 1 scrapbook 12" x 12" sheet

This afternoon I have made 3 different card toppers from just 1 sheet of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper,
I should have photographed the sheet to show you first, but didnt think about it until it was too late, will make sure I do it next time I have this little challenge for myself.
But here are the 3 toppers I have made, using all sugar nellie stamps each topper is completely different,

My first topper is uses the label from the sheet and also the bottom right corner which has the word chocolate on it, I have frayed the edges using my quick up pick tool, made an embellishment with a button some ribbon and a circle stamp - so sweet, Using promarkers I have coloured the stamped image in similar colours to the paper. layered onto cream and Peach paper all ready to be added onto a cream square card...My second card was using part of a recipe for birthday cake from the same sheet, layered a strip with a scalloped edge along the bottom with florist ribbon behind, then I added 3 paper flowers and brads ontop, again I frayed the edges with my quick un pick. added the image, once again coloured with promarkers and then glitter added. The 3rd and last topper is using the last piece of paper and a small amount of odd pieces which have been layered in different positions across the top, The stamped image is coloured with promarkers and then glitter added, I have made some flowers with a stampin up stamp and layered with a prima flower on the 2nd layer, on this topper I have used a corner punch on all the corners to round them off, this again is ready to put onto a square blank card.

so one great sheet of scrapbooking paper has made me 3 different card toppers, pretty good value me thinks, the sheet cost me 79p

Hope you like them and next time I shall photo the sheet first so you can see where each element comes from...... have a great sunday ju x

A Day off in Dartmoor National Park

Thursday 11th June

Just say AWWWWW!!!

With Fabulous weather we had a great day out in Tavistock and then into the Dartmoor National Park, hubby likes to go off round the country lanes and explore,

we stopped here (by the ponies) and had lunch which I made before we left, a nice salad bowl each as we are being good for the summer and trying to loose weight. This spot is at Yelverton and we where lucky to come across this newly born pony and mother and I got lots of shots with my camera which I remembered for a change lol.

We then went on round the lanes and came across this beautiful spot,

and what was even better was we where there all on our own..... except for the guy walking across the river..... I wonder who he is???? lol.

The McGill Tag Punch

Last week I had a post of the tag punch I bought from a craft shop while out for the day Here is the pics to remind you.

I have now got round to making some cards and using the tag as an embellishment, the two cards are totally different, the first card is using Stampin up stamps which are a new additive to my collection. based on the beach with added shells from my beach combing. the tag in the top right hand corner is just simply stamped.

Heres a close up pic of the tag and the lovely sentiment from stampin up

The second card is using forever friends decoupage and stampin up stamps for the sentiments The tag has ribbon and gems added and the stamp is again from stampin up

Hope you like the ideas, I think its an unusual embellishment to add to your cards.... and where always looking for something new arnt we!!!

Shell Earrings with Stampin Up

This evening I got a little carried away with my shell stamps, I decided to try them out on shrink plastic and this is what happened after about 30 mins, I love it when a non plan comes together....... he he he

I just stamped onto white shrink plastic with blue staz on, shrank them down, and made 2 punch holes in the top and bottom,

I then added the shell beads on the bottom and some seed beads to the top, I am very pleased with how these have turned out.....

must dash off to watch big brother......... and I know I shall get addicted to it as I always do.....lol

summer sea card

Here is a card I have been making over the last few days, its took a while as I havent had a lot of time in the craft room, so as I have popped in and out I have eventually made this card, its using a stampin up stamp and cuttlebug embossing folders I have debossed the card and then inked over the top of the bottom layer with adirondak ink, the top layer is whitewash card and sanded over to show up the colour in the debossing, added some mini shells from beach combing and some cotton yarn onto the topper, I have distressed all the edges, I didnt know the best tool to use for this but found an old 'Quik n' Pic' in the cuboard and this was perfect....
The sentiment reads :- The best things in life are not free, but priceless
I just love this sentiment, I think I shall be using it a lot..........
Hope your enjoying the sunshine.... I have been flitting in and out of the garden today...... enjoy.
