Polka Doodles Challenge - Sketch

Over at polka doodle this week the challenge is to use the sketch,

as I am going to be away on holiday from early Tuesday morning I thought I would get my entry in early, I love all that polka doodles doo......
But as I am about to go on holiday, I have to wait till I get back to order the cds..... I am itching to get my hands on them,

I decided to buy a download from them to make this card, Great papers and images with coloured stampies as well as black & white to colour yourself.

Here is my card which I made using their Twittie OWL Collection printable download

Its funny how something just comes to mind when you see a paper or image isnt it.....
For me it was the pale blue backing paper, it gave me the idea of christmas snow, and so I thought snowy owls,
then the oval became a nest, and my martha stewart branch punch became the bedding in the nest, I had just bought some white flower soft so a sprinkling of snow just came down to add to the all round feel of christmas.... lol Too wit too woo your so cute lol
Hope you like my card and if you fancy having a go click on the link above and get your entry in youve got all week so plenty of time.... Have fun . ju x

2 Birthday cards - My grandson the Birthday Boy

Its my grandsons birthday today, and hes 9. A lovely age not yet cheeky and still cuddly.... He loves football so I have made him this card using a decoupage sheet of papernation football boy which you colour your own colours. Ive added it to a sheet of Kanban football paper for the background.
Heres the decoupage sheet and as you see I have coloured it in the colours of his school football team which he is in.
The letter Stamps are from Papermania which I have coloured with my promarkers to match in with the football shirt.
The second card I have made for my son to give to his nephew
The letters are embellishments which I have had for a couple of years from papermania this is the first time I have used them, I am impressed I quite like them for boys and mens cards you need something more masculine.
The skateboarder boys are a stamp from woodware also the skateboard stamp.
Hes having his party on sunday so I hope the weather stays nice so we can all gather in the garden instead of being cooped up in the kitchen thats usually where you find me at parties lol......

Arched ATC - Stewart Gill Stamps

Its an atc mingle over at England stampers - the theme this month is arched atc.
The Template just made me think churches, and so I went down that theme.
I loved making this today, I really lost myself in it, I must admit I love to visit churches when we are out and about. I love the old carvings, and the stone and all the artwork that you find inside, sometimes its really amazing.
So I started off making the doors,
and then you enter inside.....
The colours worked so well it looks so vibrant from the inside as you open the doors

Oh and I nearly forgot, I made the hinges by using some organza ribbon inbetween the layers so the doors opened easily.Heres the view of the back stamped onto gold card with staz on black and then rubbed some ink around the egdes and all over to darken down the gold. All the stamps used are from Stewart Gill. Which I had always admired but they where expensive, but I bagged a lot of them when a local craft shop was selling them off, and I got all they had instead of being 14.99 a set I got them for £4.
Probably my best bargain yet lol.......
I do hope you like this as much as I do, it will be hard for me to let it go.............

Scrapbooking - A Wedding Page - Photos from the past

I was sent in a one of our mingles over at England stampers the lovely tag in the bottom left corner, it was so beautiful I wanted to use it on something special.
kathy the teawife is the gal who made the tag, and I believe it has made this page come to life.
After just 24 yrs of marriage I have finally got around to scrapbooking a couple of photos from the day lol.........
What did we look like lol, charcoal suit for me with black lace fingerless gloves lol the madonna look pmsl.....
I'm going to put this into the frames you can get in the Range, I like to display them on the wall for a couple of months than put them into an album, I dont know when I will get around to scrapbooking any more pages for quite a while......

I must admit they look wonderful when scrapbooked rather than the old photo albums do you think so too?????

ATC SWAPPERS - BLACK & WHITE

Here are my atcs for the atc swappers For the Month of July, The theme this month is Black & white, I had a rummage threw my stamps and came across these which I had not used for a long time, I love the image of the film strip(paper artsy) and that made me think black and white straight away so I worked from there.

I masked the stamped image, and restamped with the wording stamps and the clock stamp. Finished off round the edge with the ragged fabric stamp - which I thought I would never use, but it made a nice effect around the edge.
I have made all 4 the same, so if you fancy a swap click on the link above and join in with this months swaps. ju x

Fridge Magnets with Gesso

I had been making fridge magnets yesterday this is using a stamp which I bought from america second hand,(ebay) I have scraped gesso onto some chipboard and then stamped into it and left to dry, then painted onto it with acrylic paints, finished off by triple embossing. Then added magnets to the back.

These are approx the size of ATC'S so quite big for a fridge magnet,

I am now trying a light house so take a look back tomorrow and I should have them finished.....

The New Bella Kit from Making-handmade-cards

Today has been a funny old day for me, I found out my friends daughter had her baby today, a gorgeous baby boy weighing 8lb 9 oz and hes gonna be called Jowan. so that was really good news and then on the other hand I had one of my neighbours whos mother died today so that was very upsetting.
So all in all its been a pretty mish mash day, I made a lovely Baby card, then I had to make a Sympathy card which got me rather upset.
But I have now shaken that off and been playing around with the
Bella ekit from making-handmade-cards

This is a really simple card to make, just using 1 part of a printed sheet and mounting onto a black background before putting onto the card itself.
This is sheet BELLA 07 gorgeous blues and blacks, I have printed it onto photo paper which gives it a stunning effect, with added flowers and gems with black organza ribbon it is pure luxury. I have used a Regal blue pearlescent card as the base.

If you like the look of these papers check out the link below for your own FREE set of floraldoodle papers and remember this card is made from the kit BELLA
Have a great evening everyone, I am off to linger in the bathtub and then watch my favourite Big Brother.
If you have any questions for me just leave a comment or mail me on the right hand bar...ju x
