Vintage Card & more Dyeing & spinning

More dyeing, which I did on holiday, this time these are dyes I found in my attic,

I have had them for at least 25 yrs lol, just shows if you keep something long enough you will eventually use it lol

The colours have blended together beautifully,

This is a gorgeous greens and coppery colours

carded and blended together

just wish I had dyed more as I have only 2 hanks of the wool, so not sure what I will make with them as yet,
I also have some of the fibres left over from the carding machine which I am going to felt with my machine so when I get round to making a card with it I will show you all....

In the meantime......  Heres a card I made over the summer, the backing paper I made myself in Photoshop. The sentiment reads :- time goes by so fast enjoy every moment.
I have added card candy and a prima flower with a ribbon bow. I love the colours in this card I think its my favourite so far......

Today a Nautical Card

Using assorted Nautical stamps I have made this card using shimmer inks and distress inks a real mix of a card but a great theme for men, even if you dont live by the sea.  Lighthouses are always a favourite for me....
I have added some bits and pieces from my stash for embellishments,  I am busy spinning at the mo trying to finish a small batch of dyed fibres so I can show you hopefully tomorrow...
call back to see what Ive been upto
take care all

Goodies in the Attic

For many years I have been keeping a hoard of goodies in the Attic, waiting for that time when THE TIME IS RIGHT....... that time has now come..... we have lived here for 22 yrs this year thats how long its been up there lol.....

I used to be a spinner(confessions) and had fleeces and topps just waiting to be spun, but now I have gone into a new phase(must be the moon) of playing with felting and I have just succumbed and ordered a felting machine, (this item was essential, I NEEDED it in order to use up the stash in the attic, saving money and clearing the attic at the same time, when you think about it, its SIMPLES!, well thats what I told hubby)

I have lots of plans to dye my own wool as I know in that attic somewhere is a box of dying equipment raring to be used. All I need now is a complying hubby to find the time to get out the ladders and get up in that attic

wish me luck it may take some time......... watch this space.

Happy crafting .... ju x

my own Desert Island - if only

I'm not sure what happened to January or to the beginning of Feb but hopefully I can get back into my blogging and thought I would share this picture with you,

It was taken on a French beach last week, the place was deserted with all the houses on the beach shuttered up for the winter, the only person we saw was the jogger on the beach and he could be my man friday any day of the week.......

Happy Crafting everyone and keep warm and safe.... ju x
